PATI, CENTRAL JAVA – Pati Class IIB Correctional Facility (Lapas) held a Salat Istisqa (prayer for rain) on Friday (September 18, 2026), within the Pati Prison compound. The activity was attended by prison staff and inmates (Warga Binaan Pemasyarakatan/WBP) as a form of collective effort and prayer, asking Allah SWT to send rain soon and grant blessings and safety to the entire community.
The Istisqa prayer was carried out solemnly and with deep devotion. The prayer was led by a representative of the Pati Regency Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag), who also provided guidance on the proper implementation of the prayer and the accompanying supplications.
All staff and inmates participated in the series of activities in an orderly manner, making the occasion an opportunity to strengthen their faith, foster togetherness, and encourage everyone within the prison community to engage in self-reflection and draw closer to Allah SWT.
Pati Prison Head Suprihadi stated that the Istisqa prayer was one form of collective effort and supplication in response to the ongoing dry conditions.
“Through this Istisqa prayer, we invite all staff and inmates to pray together to Allah SWT. Hopefully, rain will soon be sent down, bringing blessings and benefits to all of us. This moment is also a reminder for us to remain grateful, improve ourselves, and maintain our concern for the environment,” he said.
